Chennai based startup called Fabheads automation, So back in 2011 Dhinesh kanagaraj and Abhijeet Rathore joined ISRO and since then they've worked on missions like GSLV Mark-3 and Chandrayaan-2 and it was while working there that they realized ISRO needs a lot of carbon fiber components to make their Rockets but making these carbon fiber components was still a manual process which involved a lot of inefficiencies and delays

So in 2015 the two decided to automate this process by launching Fab heads automation since then they've built Asia's first carbon fiber 3D printer which fabricates components for every industry from Aerospace to defense what's more back in 2021 Fab heads automation secured a project from the Indian Air Force after winning the idex challenge under this project they're building carbon fiber blades for helicopters but this startup has even bigger Ambitions because someday they even want to 3D print the entire Vande Bharat train.

2. Axio Bio Solutions:

The next company is Bengaluru based Axio bioSolutions this is a really cool company founded by Leo Mavely in 2008 Axio Bio Solutions is a MedTech startup that's known for its Flagship product axiostat which is a wound care product used by Armed Forces to stop bleeding from gunshot and blast wounds so the way that this technology works is axio uses a positively charged biomaterial called Chitosan.

When this biomaterial comes in contact with the negatively charge components in blood it accelerates the process of clotting and the bleeding is stopped within just a couple of minutes and that's the reason why axio stat has been used by the Indian Armed Forces all the way back since 2014 in fact during the URI surgical strike back in 2016 axio stat was actually used to save the lives of Indian soldiers and today more than 300 battalions of Indian armed forces are using axio stat along with other Defense Forces across Asia and Europe too.

3. Nyokas Technologies

It’s an Kochi based Nyokas Technologies founded by 4 Persons, Ajay Sangwan, Vivek Jose, Rohit T and Teny Thomas in 2017. It’s uses a combination of nanomaterials IOT sensors and software to make Ultra smart clothing that comes with built-in security features to enhance wearer protection their Flagship product is called Zeal

Which is a smart jacket for women and it looks like just a regular jacket but it comes with a shock I mean literally if someone tries to assault the wear of this jacket they will get electrocuted the jacket also comes with IOT sensors which after detecting the assault will automatically notify nearby authorities through the Nyokas official app

The company was Al one of the winners of the idex challenge back in 2019 for which they received a grant of Rs 1.15 CR to develop an individual protection system for the Indian army what is an individual protection system well it's basically a t-shirt with a sensor attached that can monitor a soldier's vitals like their heartbeat and breathing in real time while they're on the battlefield.

4. Alpha Design Technologies

Alpha design Technologies is Bengaluru based which was founded by retired Colonel HS Shankar in 2003 so a little bit older than what would normally qualify as a startup Alpha design Technologies is a defense equipment manufacturer which builds everything from electronic warfare systems to military communication systems Alpha design Technologies has also collaborated with ISRO to build India's first privately built satellite.

They're also working closely with the ministry of Defence which means that their components are used across every major defense industry in India in fact the success of alpha design Technologies LED Adani Enterprises to acquire the company back in 2019 and as of FY 22 Alpha design Technologies made 579 CR rupees in Revenue by selling their defense equipment making it one of the most successful defense manufacturers in the country.

5.Tonbo Imaging

Finally to wrap up this article we have Bengaluru based TONBO Imaging which was founded by Arvind Lakshmi Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Sudeep George and Cecilia D‘Souza in 2008 so It’s develops cutting-edge Imaging and sensor systems for the defence industry and this is the same company that provided Indian soldiers with night vision systems during that same URI- surgical strike.

What's special about their Imaging systems is the fact that they offer both heat and light vision through a single device however went Tonbo Imaging first tried to sell these products to the Indian army they were simply not interested to put it a different way they were sceptical about the product's quality and efficiency so they decided to sell their thermal imaging devices to the US Army Special Forces instead then though later on when the Indian army conducted a joint exercise with the US Army Special Forces they were impressed by these same devices

After inquiring they realized that this was the same company from India that they had rejected since then tonbo imaging has developed multiple images products including their Flagship product star which is short for see-through armor which is integrated with vehicles like BMP2  tanks to give 360° views to soldiers inside of these tanks today TONBO Imaging is selling its products to defense agencies across 25 countries.
